Leicestershire City Council has recently announced a £2.7million budget for superfast broadband rollout across the region. This means that enterprises in the vicinity of Lutterworth are likely to gain from the initiative.
Councillor Pendleton, who is eager to attract investment to the county, is confident that full-fibre solutions will enable Leicestershire-based organisations to thrive. He is looking forward to the promotion of superfast broadband in the future.
He said: “To make sure that Leicestershire residents and businesses can take advantage of the latest technological developments, local governments are relied on to invest in future-proof infrastructure.”
The council has been working with Openreach for the rollout of broadband in the county. Matt Bateman, the director responsible for infrastructure at Openreach, says he is proud of what has been achieved, but is keen to make further progress.
