The UK city of Lincoln has successfully upgraded its 300 CCTV cameras in partnership with Videcom Security, a security systems integrator specialising in large-multi site town and city centre public safety CCTV systems. Lincoln has invested a whopping £400,000 on systems designed to provide surveillance for the city and public spaces. It is part of a three-year plan, called Vision 2020, that aims to improve the city’s roadways, parks and infrastructure.
Videcom partnered with mmWave solutions provider Siklu for the installation of the wireless network. Siklu was chosen due to its previous UK successes in Watford, London Borough of Richmond, Ipswich and Cambridge where its hardware had already been deployed.
The project is now being used in planning of smart services to the city as well as wi-fi connectivity and car park data-sharing.
Siklu’s CEO, Eyal Assa, said: “We’re pleased to have had such a successful working relationship with Videcom Security on numerous projects throughout the United Kingdom. The recent project with the City of Lincoln Council is part of our commitment to providing the most reliable, interference free mmWave technology available to the market for smart city and surveillance system networks."
