Lightwave Light Switches, which are now stocked at the UK Apple Store, might just be the perfect solution for smart lighting. These are UK-circuit compatible dimming switches that are available in one-gang and two-gang versions. They are more flexible than other smart lighting solutions currently available and support both halogen and many LED dimmable lights.

 

It is also worth noting that installation is a breeze and can be carried out even without technical know-how. One user was able to swap three of his dimmer switches for the Lightwave smart ones in under an hour as they are specifically designed to be user-installable. The product includes an instruction pamphlet that tells you exactly what to do and there are available YouTube videos that you can easily follow.

 

Once installed, the Lightwave switches calibrate automatically and can be used as a ‘dumb’ switch for turning lights on and changing brightness. They can also be controlled via the Lightwave app to turn them into smart gadget. Meanwhile, connecting the Lightwave system to your HomeKit home is a standard affair. All it takes is scanning the HomeKit code on the label.
