Herefordshire Council plans to upgrade Ledbury’s CCTV system to make it more modern and cost effective.

Ledbury’s CCTV system could soon fail beyond repair because the digital video recorders used in the CCTV control room will no longer be maintained by the manufacturer.
Herefordshire Council is now looking for ways to upgrade the system and has asked Ledbury and other market towns to help fund the proposed improvements in the next nine years.
The letter from Herefordshire Council’s CCTV commissioning officer states: “It is calculated that the capital costs for the equipment can be recovered within nine years based on the same contribution from Ledbury Town Council and others at present.”
The situation was fully discussed by Ledbury town councillors at the last town council meeting but they are yet to tackle costs in open sessions.
