Latest X Factor act voted off

Shock as former bookies favourite leaves the show...

Viewers were left shocked last night as 18-year-old Aiden Grimshaw was voted off the X Factor.

Aiden found himself in the bottom two in Sunday's show with fellow contestant Katie Waissel after it was revealed that they both received the lowest number of public votes.

The decision went to deadlock as the judges couldn't decide between either of them, with Simon and Cheryl choosing to save Katie and Louis and Dannii picking Aiden to stay.

Host Dermot O'Leary then announced that it would be Aiden leaving the competition.

He was upset and looked visibly shocked at the result and said: "You win some you lose some."

Many believe that controversial contestant Waissel should have been the one to leave the show, as she has found herself in the bottom two a number of times.

Judges also chose Katie to stay in the competition last week over Treyc Cohen.

Simon too faced criticism for saving Katie over Aiden, as some believe this would give his group One Direction a 'better chance' of winning the show.
