Jungle king comic Joe Pasquale has been voted the year's showbiz winner.

The squeaky-voiced I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star beat, among others, Sir Bob Geldof and actress Jill Halfpenny in the survey of 1,700 people.

Affable Joe began the year as a little known comic and panto star but following his stint in the Australian bush the offers have been rolling in.

The poll on the website MyOffers.co.uk saw former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham voted biggest showbiz loser following her decision to abandon her singing career.

Her husband, England football captain David Beckham, was also deemed to have had an unsuccessful year coming forth in the poll of celebrity failures.

Sharon Osbourne and Robbie Williams were also voted into the top five winners.
