Jessie leads MOBOs

Singer bags five nominations for this year's awards...

Jessie J is leading the way when it comes to this year's MOBO award's, with five nominations in total.

The Price Tag singer is up for Best Album, Best Newcomer and Best UK Act, alongside Best Video and Best Song.

Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, expressed her delight at the news via her Twitter page, posting:

"What amazing news to come home to!! :D wooo hooo!"

She also released a statement, saying she feels "honoured to be nominated".

The 23-year-old will face tough competition from the likes of Adele, who has four nominations herself in the Best UK Act, Best Album, Best R&B/Soul Act and Best Song categories.

Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32 are also among the acts up for four awards at the ceremony, which will see live performances from Jessie, Katy B and Alexis Jordan.

The 2011 MOBO Awards will be co-presented by Jason Derulo and will take place in Glasgow on 5 October.

Winners are decided by public vote, which is up and running on the MOBO Award website.
