Two more football stars have pledged their support to Paul Gascoigne, the former England midfielder who is now receiving treatment in the United States after he was rushed to intensive care unit over the weekend.
Gascoigne went to a clinic in Arizona this week to seek treatment for his alcohol addiction. However, the 45-year-old suffered a bad reaction and was taken to the hospital.
Wilshere said that he will do anything he can in order to help Gascoigne. He is quoted by the Daily Mail saying: “I want to do anything I can. He changed football and was an inspirational player. I grew up watching my dad’s videos of Gazza and Italia 90.
“I want to do anything I can to help him at this challenging time.'
John Terry, on the other hand, considers Gascoigne as his personal hero. He told the newspaper: “In Italia 90, Gazza became mine and the nation’s hero. His performances and pride made him stand out and I enjoyed watching him play while I was growing up.
“Let’s all help one of England’s greatest ever players on the road to recovery.”
