A business, tech and manufacturing campus is set to be launched on September 18 at Rochester Airport in Medway.
Called the Innovation Park Medway, it is reportedly set to cover 100,000 m² of land and will offer technology, engineering and manufacturing companies up to £55K annual discounts for up to five years. The new hub is also expected to create many new jobs for residents.
Councillor Alan Jarrett, leader of Medway Council, said: “The site is so apt having been the home of other pioneering industries and technologies of the past and for the future.
“The site acknowledges our rich heritage and past with aviation, the work of the Short Brothers and of course BAE Systems and the highly innovative work being untaken by them, fusing the past with the present and future developments in aeronautics.
“Medway is perfectly placed to attract the best and brightest minds and provide employment opportunities to make Innovation Park Medway an outstanding success and blueprint for the future.”
The project is part of Medway Council’s long-term initiative to attract more innovative and creative industries to the area. Plans for the site and other information on future developments are expected to be released soon.
