Celebrity Big Brother bosses have offered contestants 50,000 to sleep with each other and spice up this year's show.

The 2005 edition of the Channel 4 reality show got into full swing yesterday, when the eight lucky celebs chosen to spend 18 days cooped up in the BB house were revealed to the nation.

Bespectacled racing pundit John McCririck was first in and wasted no time in flirting with the house "totty", supermodel Caprice.

He jokingly told other housemates that the busty blonde was his girlfriend and accused her of eyeing him from the moment she walked in the door.

The unlikely couple are joined in the house by former Mrs Sylvester Stallone Brigitte Nielsen who has already promised to walk around topless to keep housemates entertained.

Former Hollyoaks heartthrob and Rachel Stevens' ex-beau Jeremy Edwards is also among the contestants, along with feminist Germaine Greer, former Radio One DJ Lisa I'Anson and Blazin' Squad member Kenzie, who celebrated his 19th birthday yesterday.

But the bookies favourite to win is former Happy Mondays dancer-cum-maraca player Bez, whose cheeky chappy Mancunian ways are expected to be popular with the British public.

Many viewers' attentions will not be on who wins, however, but rather who shacks up together in the purpose built 'love-room', complete with double waterbed.

The Daily Star reports that BB bosses are so desperate for some on-screen action that they have promised 50,000 to the first celebs to get under the covers.

"We've never had a romance on Celebrity Big Brother which is why we've given them a secret incentive for nookie," a show source told the newspaper.

"Not everyone has been offered 50,000 - there's sort of a sliding scale, based on sex appeal."
