Actor David Arquette has admitted that he is having a nervous breakdown, since his split with Courtney Cox.

The star revealed in an interview on the Howard Stern show in the US, that he has been seeing a psychiatrist for his issues since the separation.

He also confessed to feeling heartbroken and turning to drink over the past few months.

He said: "Everybody is worried and concerned about me.

"I've been drinking a lot because I'm heartbroken. It's really a personal, traumatic thing."

The star's erratic behaviour of late hasn't gone unnoticed.

He has been seen partying with a series of different women and was even quoted as saying:

"I know people think I've flipped my lid but I haven't. I'm cool."

The couple announced their separation in October after 11 years of marriage.

They have a daughter, Coco, together, who was born in 2004.
