Flaffy bird Vietnamese creator decided to axe his own app due to extreme pressure that came with the game’s sudden success.

Flaffy Bird is one of the most successful apps made available to Apple and Google app store, generating an estimated $50,000 in advertising revenue per day. It has earned the top spot in iTunes and posed a serious threat to other successful apps including Candy Crush. It has been downloaded 50 million times since it was released in May 2013.
However, the apps sudden success didn’t sit well with its own creator, Vietnamese Dong Nguyen. After tweeting: “I cannot take this anymore” the mobile game was removed from sale on Sunday night. The developer has since received death threats from obsessed fans.
The game challenged users to guide a pixelated bird through an obstacle course of green pipes, earning one point for each pipe cleared. Players believe that it became a huge hit because of its frustrating difficulty level and instant replayability.
Although the exact reason why Nguyen axed the app has not been established, many suspect that Dong Nguyen became frustrated with the sudden intense media attention and a reported barrage of personal abuse via social media.
