'Huge cliffhangers' coming

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has confirmed that she will be returning for the showÂ’s seventh series next year.

Speaking at to zap2it at Comic-Con in San Diego she confirmed the rumours, saying:

"I am going to come back. Yes."

The show was recently renewed by the BBC for 14 episodes to be split over 2012 and 2013.

The actress also teased future episodes by saying that fans should expect "huge cliffhangers" and "all new secrets" that will be revealed.

Of her character Amy PondÂ’s secret, Gillan said:

"My secret, IÂ’ve still got. And you still donÂ’t know it. ItÂ’s so exciting. I feel so powerful now!"

Doctor Who will return on August 27 on BBC1 with an episode titled LetÂ’s Kill Hitler.
