Avengers heroes revealed

Marvel release artwork for upcoming superhero movie...

Superhero creators Marvel studios have released the artwork for their upcoming movie The Avengers.

The artwork features Chris Evans as Captain America, whose stand alone film Captain America: The First Avenger, has just stormed the US box office taking $65.8million on its opening weekend.

There are also posters for Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Norse God of thunder Thor (Chris Hemsworth), super spy Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and his team.

The Thor poster also features Norse God super-villain Loki, who has long been rumoured to be the 'big bad' in the film.

The Avengers is currently in production with Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon at the helm.

It opens in cinemas on May 4, 2012.
