HouseMyDog, the Airbnb for dogs, is coming to Liverpool.

An online service that promises “a simple, cage-free and stress-free environment experience for safely boarding dogs in real homes at affordable rates” has launched in Liverpool.
HouseMyDog, dubbed the ‘Airbnb for dogs’, is expected to create up to 3,000 paid dog sitter/walker jobs across Merseyside over the next two years. The online service, which aims to match dogs with perfect sitters and walkers, also offers veterinary care, 24-hour support, and regular updates.
The service was founded by brothers Timothy and James McElroy in 2015. It has since grown from a small community in Dublin to over 30 cities throughout Ireland, the UK and Germany.
Timothy said: "Naturally, owners want the very best possible care for their dogs. They are now demanding more choice and trust and want their pooch to have their own holiday too- somewhere fun, safe and where they will be treated like a member of the family.
"Our research estimates over £170 million is spent on the 190,000 dogs in Liverpool each year.
"With new technology in the pet care sector set to increase frequency of bookings, we estimate there is room for up to 3000 additional dog sitters and walkers over the next couple of years, allowing people to earn money while doing something they really enjoy."
