Emmerdale stars Matt Healy and Jenny Gleaves are secretly dating one another off-screen, The People claims.

The pair were reportedly spotted holding hands at the trendy Thai Edge restaurant in Leeds and an unnamed source close to the show told the paper: "Matt is completely smitten."

Emmerdale insiders claim the co-stars have been trying to keep their relationship under wraps for two months, after allegedly falling for one another in the unlikely romantic setting of the soap's canteen.

Healy, who plays tycoon Matthew King in the ITV soap, admitted: "We are very good friends and enjoy spending time together."

The 35-year-old actor, who has been a hit with female viewers since joining Emmerdale in January, was asked to leave a Dublin club last week after a heated altercation with security staff.

His supposed new love Gleaves, 23, has been axed from the soap, but her posh character Tamsin Charles will appear in the show until the end of the summer.
