John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston are said to be "ecstatic" at the birth of their new baby.

Preston, 48, gave birth to a baby boy weighing 8lbs 3oz on 24 November.

The couple have decided to call him Benjamin.

A statement from the family reads: "John, Kelly and their daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family.

"Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully."

The pair welcomed their son into the world less than two years after their 16-year-old son, Jett, suffered a fatal seizure during a family holiday.
