Gwyneth Paltrow named ‘most beautiful woman’

Gwyneth beats Beyonce, who won the title last year, after being awarded by US magazine People

Gwyneth Paltrow was named the most beautiful woman by US magazine People. She beat younger actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried and Beyonce who took the title last year. 

 

Gwyneth, a mother of two who is married to Coldplay’s singer Chris Martin, said that she makes it a point to exercise 5 days a week to stay in shape.  She said: "It makes me look younger and feel strong. When I first started, I thought, 'I'll never be good at this. This is a nightmare.' But now it's like brushing my teeth, I just do it."

 

This is the first time that Gwyneth won the title although she’s been in the magazine’s list for four years. She joins that likes of fellow Hollywood actresses Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Aniston to top the list. 

 

However, not everyone is happy with Gwyneth’s award. Within hours of the award being announced, critics voiced out their disapproval via Twitter. 

 

One Twitter user said: ‘If Gwyneth Paltrow is the most beautiful woman in the world then I’m a ten times Olympic bobsled gold medallist and Top Gun fighter pilot.’

 

Another wrote: ‘So People magazine has declared Gwyneth Paltrow is the world’s most beautiful woman, I wonder how they decide this. Bunch of c**p.’

 

Gwyneth, whose new movie Iron Man 3 is out in the cinema this week, was accused of being arrogant for giving advice on everything from cooking to how-to dress. 

 

Last week, Gwyneth was voted most hated star in Star magazine’s annual poll.
