Google Brain, which is led by a 32-year-old man from a small village in Vietnam, is Google’s attempt to build an artificial brain.

Google Brain team, which attempts to build an artificial brain, is led by a 32-year-old man who grew up in a small village in Vietnam, Mr Quoc Le. The project’s goal is to provide computers the same kind of profound neural networks that human beings possess or at least help them simulate it.

 

Google Brain is not a humanoid-like machine but artificial intelligence has already been integrated into Google products, something that Mr Le could only imagine as a child.

 

Talking about his humble beginnings while growing up in a small village in Vietnam that did not have electricity, he said: "Back then every single moment of technology introduced to us, suddenly changed our lives," 

 

He shared that seeing a 1969 Moon Landing picture has developed his passion in artificial intelligence.

 

"I was asking the question: we are not the fastest animal on earth, we can't even fly, but somehow we made it to the Moon. What is that single capability that we have that other animals don't have?

 

"And I realised it's because of the brain - it's intelligence."

 

After realising that intelligent machines were not commonplace, he said: "So I decided maybe I should build it.”
