A research survey found that video gaming is much more effective in finding a romantic partner when compared to online dating.
The research, which was commissioned ahead of the launch of gigantic fantasy game Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited on PS4 and Xbox One, found that 45per cent of the 1,000 respondents believe that playing video games gave them better chances of finding their soul mate compared to 39per cent who preferred Tinder-style dating.
Video games allow players to chat and get to know each other whilst questing or slaying mythical beasties.
Murial Mulder, 24, from Holland met and fell in love with her boyfriend James Brooks, 22, from Dorset whilst playing Elder Scrolls.
"I was surprised I fell in love with someone I’d never met, but now I've done it I wouldn't have it any other way," she said.
"I think we’re pretty good proof that it’s normal people playing games and there’s no need to be afraid to meet in real life as long as you’re careful," Murial said.
James added that gaming "meant I got to know Muriel more as a person without the physical side of the relationship".
"I think it’s the reason we’re so close emotionally now."
