ForwardX Robotics has showcased its robotic self-driving suitcase at the CES Unveiled preview show on January 07.
Called the CX-1, the suitcase is fitted with 170° wide angle camera, facial recognition software and lidar, allowing it to follow you wherever you go and properly position itself as it manoeuvres. It is also equipped with an alert bracelet that goes off if it goes out of range. It also has an internal battery that can be used to charge your smartphone and other gadgets.
Date of release and other technical specifications are yet to be released by the Chinese firm.
CES 2018 is set to feature other innovative technologies. It is expected to be dominated by artificial companions of all shapes and sizes from different manufacturers. The annual technology convention is set to open today but has already given an early chance for attendees to see the trends that are most likely to dominate the show this year.
Meanwhile, CES researchers said that voice-commanded virtual assistants packed into speakers and other devices will be a 'game-changing' trend this year.
