Faster Outer Space WiFi

Astronaut Tim Peak says WiFi is much faster in outer space than at home.

Former digital minister Matt Hancock has revealed that astronaut Tim Peak has complained about his WiFi at home saying that the service was much faster in outer space.

 

Mr Hancock said:  “I was really excited a short while ago when I found out I was sitting next to Tim Peake.

 

“While I was looking forward to discussing seeing the world from space, and what it feels like to plummet back to Earth, all he wanted to talk about was his internet connection at home.”

 

Tory MP Grant Shapps reacted to the story by saying: “It was a giant leap to provide fast internet access for the International Space Station, but one small step to fix it in Tim Peake's home was clearly too big an ask.”

 

According to Ofcom, one in five of Britain’s 24 million broadband users are not satisfied with their service.
