Faster Broadband for East Riding
Faster and more reliable internet speeds coming to rural parts of the East Riding.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has recently committed an additional £500,000 funding to bring fast and reliable broadband service to residential and commercial sites located in rural areas. The initiative, which is part of the Government's £22million Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, targets hard-to-reach places that are commonly overlooked by commercial internet providers.
The voucher scheme provides up to £3,000 financial assistance to residential properties and up to £7,000 for small and medium-sized businesses.
Councillor Anne Handley, portfolio holder for enterprise and digital at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "This top-up funding will be giving some of the most rural homes and businesses in the East Riding with low speeds the opportunity to access better broadband.
"I would encourage those people and businesses in rural locations to check if they are eligible and apply for the vouchers before the Government's closing date of 31st March 2021."
