Eurovision Song Contest 2020 Has Official Partner in KPN
The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) has been running for many decades now, and the 2020 contest is scheduled to take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands

This comes following last year’s win by Duncan Laurence and his song “Arcade”, which stormed to victory in Tel Aviv.
Songs for this year’s contest have already either been revealed or are currently duking it out in national semi-finals and finals of singing competitions. Indeed, one of the big thrills of the ESC, is learning who will be representing which country and the song that they’re singing, too. Yet, it’s also the case that the Eurovision requires at least one partner every year that it occurs. And the 2020 contest partner has now finally been revealed.
KPN, the leading telecommunications, IT provider and market leader in the Netherlands, has been named as the partner for the 2020 ESC. This provides KPN with not only an extensive association to the event, but digital rights for the Rotterdam shows, which are due to take place on May 12, 14 and 16. As part of the partnership, KPN will be expected to deliver on connectivity services to allow global distribution of television signals, as well as wireless internet services within the Ahoy during the contest.
This will doubtless help to promote the event, with it having such a huge partner working alongside it. And promotions run even deeper with the William Hill promo code that is available to claim, too. Potentially, once the ESC rolls around, you’ll want to continue placing bets at the William Hill site on who you believe will be the 2020 winner.
Dutch Telecoms Market Leader Receives Praise
With regard to the partnership that has been formed between the ESC 2020 and KPN, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Content, Jon Ola Sand spoke highly of the telecommunications brand. He said that the “vital infrastructure” of KPN will of course be “invaluable in helping audiences around the globe enjoy the event”. Sand also said that the internet services being set up within the Ahoy will give the thousands of delegates, artists and journalists in Rotterdam the ability to remain connected globally when the “world’s largest live music event” takes place.
The Director of Sponsorship for KPN, Mark Versteegen said that his company commits itself “as a partner to the Eurovision Song Contest in Ahoy Rotterdam” before mentioning that it would work perfectly alongside the NPO and EBU to provide a “great event”.Versteegen went on to comment on providing the event with fibre optic, mobile and Wi-Fi connections, both prior to it taking place and during the live airings.
The Ahoy has been a favourite location for many big events to take place in over the years, including performances by The Rolling Stones, the hosting of the North Sea Jazz Festival and even the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
