It’s been a while since songstress Ellie Goulding has been seen in the spotlight, but now the singer is back with a new album, much to the delight of her fans.
The singer gave fans a preview of her new material by posting a free download of the song ‘Hanging On’, which also featured Tinie Tempah. The download was made available earlier this month.
‘Hanging On’ will be part of the new album, which will be entitled ‘Halcyon’. It is expected to hit the shelves on October 8. It will be preceded by the single ‘Anything Could Happen’, which will be released on September 30.
This will be Goulding’s second album, the first one being 'Lights', which was released in March 2010. Lights reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and number six on the Irish Album Charts. Its singles such as 'Guns and Horses', 'Starry Eyed', and 'The Writer' reached 26, 4, and 19 rankings respectively. While Goulding has released another compilation prior to 'Halcyon', it was only an EP containing mixes of songs from the first album.
Goulding has also revealed in a comment a theme for the new album: “This album is going to be even more emotional. I wanted to make it so there is hope. I want to make an effect whether it’s happy or sad.”
