EastEnders spoiler alert! No 23 Albert Square destroyed in shock explosion

No 23 Albert Square will be destroyed in shock fire scenes that will air later this month.

In the week commencing Monday, September 15, Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) will be seen starting a fire in a bin as he bids to solve his financial problems by claiming his contents insurance.

However all doesn’t go to plan: As the fire takes hold, Alfie suddenly attemps to go inside the house as he realized that Kat may still be inside. As he does so, a huge blast throws him back. Will he be able to save Kat?

The explosive story marks the start of EastEnders autumn story arc, which will also see Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) return just as his dad Phil (Steve McFadden) plans to tie the knot. 

Speaking about what lies ahead, executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “Bombs that we have been carefully planting over the last few months are about to explode all over the Square as some of our most iconic characters’ lives change forever.

"With huge twists, shock returns and stories which will move, provoke and entertain, this September is going to be classic EastEnders and an unforgettable start to our autumn."
