Driverless Cars To Arrive In UK
UK driverless car projects get government green light.

UK driverless car projects have obtained funding and the go signal from the government.
Business Secretary Sajid Javid said: "Our cars of the future will be equipped with the technologies that will make getting from A to B safer, faster, and cleaner."
"They will alert drivers of accidents ahead and be able to receive information from their surroundings about hazards, increasing the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians."
The eight driverless car projects are:
1. UK Connected Intelligent Transport Environment, which will focus more on developing talking car technologies
2. Insight, which focuses on providing transport for disabled and visually impaired people
3. Tools for autonomous logistics operations and management, which focuses on developing modeling tools with the help of experts in transportation and computer games industry
4. Flourish, which focuses on developing tools to better understand users’ need with regard to autonomous vehicles in Bristol
5. Move-UK, which aims to accelerate the creation and market readiness of autonomous driving systems
6. Innovative Testing for Autonomous Control Techniques, which aims to reduce the cost of testing driverless systems
7. Pathway to Autonomous Commercial Vehicles, which aims to develop technologies to determine safety risks
8. i-Motors – Intelligent Mobility for Future Cities Transport System, which focuses on developing hardware that can analyse sensory data in real-time.
