A celebrity-spotting software designed to match faces to celebrities has been created by scientists. Using artificial intelligence, it can tell you which celebrity you look like in a matter of seconds.
Clarifai, which was developed by New York-based scientist Matthew Zeiler, was presented at the EmTech Digital conference in San Francisco. The celebrity lookalike technology has over 10,000 celebrities on record including Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie.
'The 'Celebrity' model analyses images and returns probability scores on the likelihood that the media contains the face(s) of over 10,000 recognised celebrities', the website says.
'You can call the Predict API with the 'Celebrity' model.
'Simply pass in an image input with a publicly accessible URL or by directly sending image bytes', it said.
However, the technology is not 100per cent accurate and has made some amusing slip-ups during testing. It incorrectly identified singer and actress Janelle Monae as actor Chevy Chase. It also failed to correctly identify Kosovan model Flamur Ukshini saying it was Ex-One Direction singer Zayn Malik. Also, some of images are difficult to recognize due to different lighting conditions and because many subjects were not staring directly at the camera.
