Three divorces will cause emotional turmoil and misery in Coronation Street before Christmas, a soap insider has claimed.

The Corrie source told the Daily Mirror that some of Wetherfields best-loved characters will end up in the divorce courts as their marriages break down in spectacular soapland style.

The most surprising marriage to hit the rocks will be that of newly weds Dev and Sunita Alahan it is claimed, with pregnant Sunita (Shobna Gulati) heartbroken to discover that corner shop mogul Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) has been seeing another woman.

Walking out on her philandering husband just weeks before she is due to give birth to the couples twins, Sunita is even more shocked when Devs secret daughter from a previous relationship turns up on his doorstep, fuelling her to demand half his corner shop empire in
revenge, the Mirror reports.

Meanwhile, Danny Baldwins (Bradley Walsh) affair with his sons girlfriend Leanne Battersby will also allegedly see him taken to the cleaners by wife Frankie (Debra Stephenson), who demands a share of his Underworld knicker factory after he confesses to his adultery.

And long-suffering Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is set to become suicidal after estranged wife Karen (Suzanne Jones) decides to take him for every penny, including a claim to half his share in the Streetcars taxi firm.

Outlining the mayhem set to hit the cobbled streets of Wetherfield, the unnamed Corrie mole told the Mirror: "There are plenty of surprises along the way. Marriage break-ups don't come cheap and without misery and turmoil, and all those ingredients will be touched on in the three divorces."
