The Society for Innovation, Technology and Modernisation (SOCITM) has commended Denbighshire County Council for the way it manages its Business Transformation and ICT service.
Based on SOCITM's latest national benchmarking survey, the council's IT service has been found to be cost-effective and designed to enable its staff to work flexibly. It has received the highest scores across the UK in the Communication Channels, Ease of Contact, Kept Inform by ICT and Ability to Work Flexibly categories. It has also ranked very highly in the Customer Service Skills and Technical Competence categories.
Cllr Richard Mainon, Lead Member for Corporate Services and Strategic Direction, said: "I would like to congratulate the staff involved who have worked hard to ensure these excellent results.
"Having a well-managed IT service allows the Council to make savings while still providing a first-rate service to our residents, whether ensuring our staff are still able to work and provide services during the current lockdown restrictions, in our schools or via services such as online booking forms on our website.
"The positivity and can-do attitude our staff show never fails to impress and inspire. Well done to all."
Following the commendation from SOCITM, other councils are now seeking advice from Denbighshire as to how to provide a better ICT service.
