Coronation Street actress Bev Callard is set to return to the street after taking time off with a health scare.

The actress, who plays Liz McDonald in the ITV soap, stopped filming on the cobbles after coming into money troubles with the pub that she owns in real life.

However close friends of hers have revealed that having got expert help and advise, the actress will soon be back on set.

Corrie source said: "Bev's been given the all-clear by experts and will be back on the Street. The cast are over the moon.

"She's had a rough ride off-screen in the past year, but Bev's a fighter and was determined to get back on track as soon as possible.

Callard and her partner John McEwan were forced to close their pub business in Hale Cheshire amid the threat of bankruptcy.

The couple worked long hours to make the venture a success and on top of this the actress was still working long hours on Coronation Street.

A source said: "Not only was Bev under incredible stress, she was also working flat out. But she's pulled herself together and finally has that bubbly Bev smile back on her face.
