Chrissie Watts, the curly-haired EastEnders husband-killer, will make a break for the border when police are searching for Dirty Den's murderer.
But just as she and her toy boy Jake Moon are about to escape to freedom, Chrissie, played by Tracy-Ann Oberman, gets nabbed by the coppers.
An EastEnders mole told the Sun: "The police are sniffing all over Albert Square after Den's body is found and Chrissie starts to get twitchy.
"She decides to flee the country and takes Jake with her. Just as it looks like they're going to get away with it, the cops descend on them.
"It's like the Great Escape when you think Steve McQueen is home and dry."
Chrissie murdered her husband Den with a doorstop, and tries unsuccessfully to frame hard-edged blonde Sam Mitchell, played by Kim Medcalf.
Den's body is unearthed from underneath the Queen Vic on the day of Sharon's wedding. Sharon had wanted her dad to walk her down the aisle, but instead the McQueen-like murderess gives her away.
