A Chinese fish seller has found a live bomb inside a squid, which measures three feet, as he gutted it for a customer. The fishmonger, who only gave his name as Mr. Huang, said that his knife hit the metal bomb.
He said: “This sort of squid lives close to the shore and normally makes a meal of small fish and prawns. Perhaps he thought the bomb was his favourite food and gulped it down. He certainly had a big belly when he was caught.”
The authorities, who came to the scene quickly, supposedly revealed that the eight-inch explosive could have gone off at any moment. They took the bomb away to perform a controlled explosion.
Police believe that the bomb have been dropped by a fighter plane but can’t explain how it found its way inside the squid belly. They also did not reveal how old it was or of its origin.
