CCTV IoT
IoT invigorates the CCTV market.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become an important element in running many types of businesses and organisations. It is proven to enhance productivity and efficiency as well as make the process of data gathering and storing simplier. IoT already has a major impact in video surveillance and monitoring with CCTV hardware now being in used in conjunction with cloud services.
These technologies help businesses in collecting and storing CCTV footages off-site. Authorised personnel are then given the authority to view the collected data using a tablet, PC or smartphone and this process can be done remotely as long as the user is connected to the Internet. This is important as many criminals now damage or destroy CCDTV equipment to avoid getting caught. Using IoT and cloud services ensure that the evidence is out of reach and can be easily sent to authorities, if needed.
One of the many organisations that are now using IoT for video surveillance is housing association Family Mosaic, which uses the technology to protect residents and their properties from vandalism and fly tipping. In case of any incident, the neighbourhood manager accesses the footages and sends them to the police immediately so the culprit can be identified.
