Oliver Stone's Greek epic Alexander was almost ruined when lead actor Colin Farrell broke bones after a cast party.

The actor passed out and took a tumble down three flights of stairs while at co-star Val Kilmer's party for the cast and crew of the film, according to WENN.

The fall saw Farrell break his ankle and wrisit - while there were still three days of filming left for the movie.

Stone has said that the fall almost resulted in the ending of the film being reworked.

"Colin came very close. He gambled. We made it. We got some fill-in shots," Stone commented.
