Burglar Alarm
Tips on choosing the best burglar alarm system.
15:21 26 June 2017
There are so many burglar alarm systems available in the market today. In choosing the best one for your home, it is important to consider the following factors: your budget, personal preferences, and the level of protection you need.
There are basically four types of burglar alarms; each with pros and cons.
· Bells only alarms – As the name suggests, these alarms only make a noise, which can hopefully scare off burglars.
· Dialler burglar alarms – Automatically dial the phone number that you’ve nominated once triggered.
· Smart home security systems – Contacts you or your family members when the alarm goes off through a tablet or smartphone app.
You also have the option to sign up with a security company that will take action or call the police if the alarm goes off.
You also need to decide if you’d rather get a wireless or wired system.
Wireless alarm systems, which are the more expensive option, use battery-operated sensors that communicate with a control panel using radio signals. They are easy to install and removing them is a lot less tricky when compared to wired systems. Wired systems, although cheaper, can be tricky to install and you may need professionals to do the job for you.
