Buckingham Palace police apologises to Prince Andrew
The Duke of York is “grateful†after Buckingham palace police apologised to him after he was mistaken for intruder.

After being mistaken for intruder and after being challenged in the gardens Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew got an apology from Buckingham Palace police. The Duke of York is said to be grateful for the apology. In a statement, he said: "The police have a difficult job to do balancing security for the Royal Family and deterring intruders, and sometimes they get it wrong.
"I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future."
Contrary to previous reports, the police said that no weapons were not drawn during the incident that involved the Duke.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police added: "In light of media reports we can confirm that the man spoken to by officers was the Duke of York. We are making this public with HRH's permission.
"We are grateful to the duke for his understanding and have apologised for any inconvenience caused."
