Boston Marathon bombings: Police chase suspect
Police are hunting for a man believed to be a suspect in Monday’s Boston bombings

A police search is underway after an officer was killed during a shooting near Boston. It is uncertain as of time of writing whether the shoot-out is related to the Boston Marathon bombs, which went off on Monday, 15th April.
The shooting took place outside of the city of Boston. Police confirmed that one man, reportedly believed to be a suspect, was shot during the incident and has died as a result.
A police chase took officers towards Watertown, which is less than seven miles outside the city of Boston.
In a statement, police said the officer was killed “on campus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology”. This is believed to have happened on Thursday, 18th April, 2013.
With regards to the Boston Marathon bombings, three individuals were tragically killed. Over 170 people were injured as a result of the blasts which went off at the finishing line at the event.
The victims who lost their lives have been named. Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingzi and Martin Richard, aged 8 years old, were all tragically killed by the bombings.
The London Marathon is planned to take place on Sunday, 21st April, and according to reports security was being looked into. This came in the wake of the blasts in America’s Boston.
