The remaining Celebrity Big Brother housemates have started to find life in the house a lot tougher and temperatures are set to rise as producers punish them with a tougher regime.

Removing all soft furnishings, leaving only hard benches to sit on, and swapping sugar for salt, the celebrities are to face a less luxurious stay than they have been used to.

Singer Dane Bowers commented: "They have taken all our comforts."

The housemates initially blamed Lady Sovereign for the salt swap, but after the heat was turned up in the bedroom and the hot water turned off, they started to realise she wasn't behind the uncomfortable changes.

However, the changes are part of a punishment for Lady Sovereign stealing the house's 'Mystical Key'.

Rapper Lady Sovereign became the third celebrity to be booted out of the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night.

On leaving she threw the key into the audience, who greeted her with booing as she left the house.

As spokeswoman for the show said : "Things will get a lot harder for the celebrities."

The singer had managed to escape Friday night's eviction watching both Katia Ivanova and Heidi Fleiss leave the house.

But in a vote against glamour model Nicola T, her luck ran out and viewers voted to keep Nicola T.
