Teenage pop sensation mistaken for a 'crazed fan'...
09:12 24 June 2011
Teen pop sensation Justin Beiber was tackled to the ground by an undercover policeman, while promoting his new fragrance outside Macy's in New York yesterday.
The singer was at the department store in Manhattan on 23 June and came outside to talk to a large group of fans gathered outside.
The crowd become unruly and a plain clothes officer pushed Bieber to the ground, reportedly mistaking the star for a crazed fan.
The bodyguard has allegedly been issued with a summons for disorderly conduct.
Bieber's spokesperson Matthew Hiltzik told the New York Post:
"It was a momentary well-intentioned misunderstanding and the event went well. He's completely fine and has no injuries."
However, local news reports claim that the 17-year-old was "shaken up" by the incident.
One fan who was in the crowd said:
"[The man] just jumped and literally tried to attack [Justin]. I saw Justin going, 'What? What?'
"Three guys were holding this guy back. He was yelling at him, it was crazy."
Bieber's fragrance is called Someday and is described as "energy with a state-of-mind that inspires" and "a personal gift straight from his heart, giving fans a chance to get one step closer to Justin".
