Baldwin files for bankruptcy

Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin has filed for bankruptcy after landing himself in more than £1.4 million worth of debt.

According to a reports the 'Usual Suspects' actor,  filed for Chapter 11 protection claiming he is millions in debt and he only owns a property worth $1.1million  (£669,334).

Court papers showed that the actor owes about $1.2 million on two mortgages on the New York property and more than $1 million in taxes. He also has credit card debts.

Earlier in the year, it surfaced that Baldwin's New York home was going to be auctioned after he was unable to make the large mortgage payments.

However, at the time, he denied there were any problems.

His lawyer has made no comment on the bankruptcy claims.

The actor recently appeared in the US version of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'
