An arresting mugshot: Photogenic 'too sexy for jail' criminal goes viral

A mugshot of blue-eyed gang member posted on Facebook was liked by over 30,000 people.

30-year-old Jeremy Meeks was arrested this week and California police posted his mugshot to their Facebook as part of the procedure. All business as usual for guests at their jail, but what they did not expect is that in less than 24 hours, the photo of the blue-eyed gang member gained a rabid fan following. 

 

Tens of thousands of people liked the photo while thousands more commented on the criminal's striking features. 

 

Meeks, who is already a convicted felon, swept internet denizens off their feet with his undeniable good looks. 

 

A Facebook user named Ashley Pruitt Carden wrote: “What is he guilty of?! First degree of Sexiness?!"

 

Another user Rhonda Cee, said: “He’ll probably be on the next years prison calendar.. Mr… EVERY MONTH!”

 

'He needs to be a model,' wrote Bettina Jones. 'I would buy whatever he's selling!'

 

According to TMZ, Meeks was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammo, as he was caught carrying a loaded firearm in public. He is also involved in criminal street gang activity. 

 

Meeks is being held on $900,000 bail but apparently, his fans are willing to do anything to set him free. 'He didn't know any different. I could turn him into a "model" citizen. Where can I pay his bail?' wrote Deborah Ann Mitchell.

 

Unfortunately for his admirers, Meeks is a married (con)man.
