16:33 05 March 2015
March 5, 2015 marks the 18th annual celebration of World Book Day where authors, illustrators, and books will all be celebrated.
Recognized as the biggest celebration of its kind, it was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration in over 100 countries all over the world.
Today, children of all ages are encouraged to come together to read books and to appreciate stories.
The goal of this celebration is to inspire more children to explore and read more books by providing them with the opportunity to do so.
Schools all over the country will be sent packs of Book Tokens and age-ranged World Book Day Resource Packs that are full of ideas and exciting activities.
With the help of National Book Tokens Ltd, publishers, and booksellers, 14 million children and young people will receive book vouchers that they can use at their local booksellers to pick a book from new and completely free books.
The vouchers can also be used to get any book at or audio book at discounted prices at participating bookshops or book clubs.
