Alicia Keys reunites with estranged father

Alicia Keys has finally decided to mend her fragile relationship with her estranged father, following years of no contact between them.

The sexy singer refused to speak to her dad, Craig Cook, after he walked out on her when she was a little girl.

However, she has now decided it's time to build a new relationship, saying: "The healing process is delicate and takes time. I started the process because I was tired of always being upset when I thought about my father.

"I was tired of holding onto this big cloud of pain and unanswered questions inside. I was tired of holding a grudge that was only causing me to be bitter and sarcastic."

But Alicia admits it will take her a long time to get over his absence during her childhood.

She is quoted by the Contact Music website as saying: "I realised people can't and will not always be how you want them to be. I had to come to a place where I could begin to let go.

"That doesn't mean that you forget it. It just means you begin to let it go."
