Noel Gallagher is a huge fan of ABBA.
The Oasis guitarist has declared his love for the Swedish songsmiths, Benny, Bjorn, Frida and Agnetha, and admits he is perplexed as to why they are not rated as highly as other groups.
He said: "I love ABBA. To listen to those songs, they're incredible. And the way that they sound is even more incredible.
"I never understood the kitsch tag that Abba have. People seem to look at them in an ironic way."
ABBA first hit the charts in 1974 with their Eurovision-winning track 'Waterloo', and went on to enjoy a string of hits before splitting in the early 1980s.
This is not the first time Noel has revealed his admiration for a pop act.
The 38-year-old rocker once confessed to being a fan of Scottish singer Darius Danesh.
The 'Wonderwall' writer allegedly told the 'Pop Idol' contestant during a chance meeting: "You've got some top tunes, mate, respect to you".
