5G Mast for Murrayfield
Proposals for a 20 metre-high 5G mast on Edinburgh road submitted to The City of Edinburgh Council.

WHP Telecoms Limited and phone service provider Three have submitted proposals for a towering 20 metre-high mast on a busy Edinburgh road.
The council has already launched a consultation for the proposed mast, which will be twice the height of existing street lights on Edinburgh's Corstorphine Road. According to the documents filed, the mast would be built '37 Metres South West' of 98 Corstorphine Road.
Due to the height of the mast, some residents are worried that "it will be very prominent when passing along the main Glasgow Road."
The proposals come as phone providers voiced their concerns over the number of 5G masts that were vandalised by conspiracy theorists who believe that there is a link between 5G and the spread of coronavirus in the United Kingdom.
The Government has since addressed the claims through a document called "5G Mobile Technology: A Guide", which says: "Companies have been rolling out 5G in the UK since 2019.
"However, some people have raised concerns that the introduction of 5G could affect people's health and have even linked it to the coronavirus pandemic.
"These claims are completely unfounded and should not be used as a basis to block or delay 5G rollout."
