1.Over 2,000 people from across the globe have been invited to attend the former Prime Minister’s ceremonial funeral. The Queen is expected to be present. Her majesty attended the state funeral of Sir Winston Churchill in 1965.
2.Coverage will be shown live on television by certain groups, including the BBC among others. This will span the morning of Wednesday 17th April, with the funeral service expected to take place at 11am.
3.Certain individuals have been chosen to carry Baroness Thatcher’s coffin which will be covered in a union flag. A private service for family members and particular individuals was held on Tuesday, 16th April, as the former PM’s coffin stayed overnight at the Chapel of St. Mary Undercroft in London.
4. Military personnel will line the streets for the procession in London ahead of the funeral service.
5.Reportedly, security has been looked into following the blasts at the Boston Marathon. There are also fears there may be protesters present on the day of Baroness Thatcher’s funeral.
