Christmas dinner at the Vic turns into a day of revelations for Walford's favourite love triangle in a dramatic episode that sees Sharon leave the Square.

Zoe is invited to the Watts family Christmas dinner in the pub only to find out that her lover Dennis is sleeping with his adopted half-sister Sharon.

The youngest Slater, played by Michelle Ryan, goes mad after finding out that the pair have been sneaking around behind her back.

When Sharon says that she and Dennis, played by Nigel Harman, are going away to live together, Zoe lies about being pregnant to get him to stay.

A devastated Sharon, played by Letitia Dean, then leaves the Square to start a new life on her own in the USA in this explosive Christmas Day episode.

"Suddenly the truth is in front of Zoe and her logic is simple - if she can get Dennis alone he'll grow to love her," actress Michelle, 20, explained.

"Of course, this is complete nonsense and an act of desperation. It can't ever end happily.
