Third Apprentice hopeful faces Lord Sugar's wrath...
09:35 19 May 2011
Gavin Winstanley has become the third Apprentice candidate to leave the show, after a disastrous stint as project manager.
Lord Sugar challenged each team to buy ten specific and unusual items for a hotel at the lowest possible prices.
When the final totals came in, Winstanley's Team Logic ended up losing out by just £8, however Sugar said they deserved their defeat as they didn't find nearly enough of the listed products.
Lord Sugar blasted the team, saying:
"You must be sick. It's a disgrace that you only got six items out of 10.
"Gavin, the feedback I got from Karren was that you set the ground rules out and no-one took a blind bit of bloody notice of you."
Winstanley brought team members Zoe Beresford and Vincent Disneur back into the boardroom, but Sugar decided that it was Gavin who should get the boot.
After being fired, 27-year-old Winstanley said:
"'I thought it may come down to whether Lord Sugar would prefer me or Vincent as his business partner, and with me having the experience of growing my own business I thought he would have gone for me."
Catch the Apprentice Wednesday evenings at 9pm on BBC One.
