X-Factor star Wagner Carrilho, 56, is expecting a baby with his 20-year-old girlfriend Lydia Longville. It will be Brazilian Wagner’s second child. His first is a five-year-old son with a previous partner. 

 

Wagner met Lydia while he was still on the X-Factor. Although older than Lydia by 36 years, Wagner is now an overjoyed expectant father. He said: “Chances are, I have 20 or 30 years left, but there’s nothing I can do about it.”

 

The couple says they are very happy with the pregnancy as well as with their relationship. “I can even remember that he was wearing a black shirt with red roses on it, and a burgundy jacket,” Lydia recalled the first time they met. 

 

Despite the age difference, Wagner and Lydia’s relationship is going strong. Wagner commented: “If people say I’m a cradlesnatcher, they’re short-sighted, I don’t feel 56.”

 

He also added that the pregnancy was planned. “We’d stopped using contraception so it was inevitable because she’s young and fertile. I’m like a vampire – I only like young blood.”

 

The couple, however, has no plans to marry. Wagner said: “I’ve committed this marriage crime twice and I’ve done my time.”

 

He also explained that a wedding was ‘like a holiday – you do it when you have time and money’ and clearly not a priority for them. 

 

Lydia understands this, simply saying: “Let’s just say his experience has paid off.”
